MFA COMPUTER ARTS OPEN STUDIOS

In the Fall of 2024, MFA Computer Arts presented its Fall Open Studios event, bringing together multidisciplinary projects from students. As this event was primarily for second-year thesis students, I was given the opportunity to participate as a first-year student, in collaboration with two other first-year students, on a projection mapping project using MadMapper and a spherical projection surface (6 feet in diameter, suspended from the ceiling). We conducted the visuals live, allowing for easy interaction with viewers, and included audio reactivity using our original animation and video work.

From MFA Computer Arts: “The creative work encompasses a wide range of media including immersive installation, animation, design, and interactivity. “Art and technology have always been fantastic partners in creativity and our latest student works offer some great examples on that intersection,” states department chair Terrence Masson. The MFA Computer Arts Studio is shared among students interested in building interactive, multidisciplinary and installation art projects. The space also includes a workshop/classroom for students to construct their work.”
